How to glow like Golden Globe winner Anna Sawai
A sneak peek inside her red carpet routine
Anna Sawai and her Shogun cast mates, Hiroyuki Sanada and Tadanobu Asano, secured three Golden Globes at the Awards ceremony on Monday for their performances. Plus, the show itself took home the trophy for the drama television series category too.
Naturally, with four nominations and four wins under their belts, Sawai and her peers were in good spirits. But, truth be told, we noticed the 32 year old was glowing before the ceremony even started.
After a bit of digging we came to the conclusion that the responsible party had to be Sawai's makeup artist, Yukari Obayashi Bush. Obayashi Bush used a succinct little kit of Dior makeup products to perfect the Shogun star's complexion, creating a lit-from-within quality that made Sawai shine on the red carpet.

As far as we're concerned, Obayashi Bush performed base makeup magic on Sawai. Although, we're sure her brushes of choice had something to do with the airbrushed finish the actress was sporting on the red carpet, the combination of Dior's Forever Skin Perfect Multi-Use Foundation Stick in #2N ($99 from Sephora) and the Dior Forever Skin Correct in #2N ($74 from Sephora) was a match made in heaven. The makeup artist enhanced the 32 year old's enviable bone structure by buffing and blending the Dior Forever Skin Contour Stick in shades #01 and #02 ($95 from Sephora) where needed.
Obayashi Bush set the base makeup by pressing a fine layer of the Dior Cushion Powder in #030 Medium ($110 from MYER) into Sawai's skin. Then she lightly swept Dior's Rouge Blush Colour & Glow in #257 Dioriviera ($92 from Sephora) — a radiant coral duo — over the apples of her cheeks.
She complimented Sawai's luminous skin by defining her eyes with the Diorshow 5 Couleurs in #429 Toile de Jouy ($120 from Sephora). She used a neutral-toned brown shadow from the palette along the lash line, and diffused it with a soft pink nude sheen swept across the lids.
Next, Obayashi Bush used the Diorshow On Stage Liner in #096 Satin Black ($61 from Sephora) to create a fine lined micro wing on the outer two-thirds of Sawai's eyes, close to the natural lash line. Then, she emphasised the length and fullness of the award winner's lashes by priming them with the Diorshow Maximizer 4D ($63 from MYER), followed by a few coats of the Diorshow Mascara in #090 Black ($63 from David Jones).
Sawai has a lovely natural soft arch to her brows, so Obayashi Bush simply filled in any sparse areas with the Diorshow Brow Styler in #03 Brown ($57 from Sephora).
Then, to finish off the soft glam look, she applied a touch of Dior's Rouge Dior Contour in #229 Rose Spice ($51 from Sephora) to Sawai's lip line, and a healthy layer of the Dior Addict Lip Glow in #038 Rose Nude ($64 from David Jones) for a plush-looking pout the actress could easily touch up throughout the awards ceremony and after party. Although, we suspect she was far too busy celebrating a night of wins with her cast mates to care about her lip combo.
