BEAUTYcrew's Beauty Editors reveal their all-time favourite fragrances

"Without fail, I always receive compliments"
As Beauty Editors the BEAUTYcrew Team has an occupational obligation to sample as many of the beauty products that come across our desk as possible.
So if you're looking for beauty tips or product recommendations there really is no better information source.
Speaking of which, if you've been looking to add another fragrance to your perfume collection, then we can help you with that too.
In fact, the entire BEAUTYcrew Team has banded together to break down the scents we've been spritzing non-stop — and we think you might be inclined to do the same.
Delaney Loane, BEAUTYcrew’s Editor
The fragrance she wears everyday:
"If I’m honest I originally bought my first Gucci Flora Gorgeous Orchid ($194 from Sephora) for the bottle. I realise that’s a big spend to put behind a packaging preference, but it’s practically art whilst maintaining a good mix of chic and cheerful. It’s also the closest to securing a piece of the Gucci wallpaper I’ll get, so it’s basically a bargain. It’s a good thing I like the bottle though, as I’ve since collected a few. The fragrance inside is my absolute favourite for the day — it’s a sunny vanilla scent that’s certainly heftier than the fruity-floral variations I generally gravitate toward, but perhaps that’s why its tenure has been the longest in my collection. It stands out both visually and to the senses (thanks to its double dose of vanilla, in both vanilla duo and vanilla orchid form), and practically demands glowing compliments."
The scent she reserves for the evening:
"'Powdery' isn’t my natural go-to in the fragrance realm (is it anyone’s?), but the Narciso Rodriguez Narciso Poudree ($109.99 from Chemist Warehouse) is that category done right. Musk, rose and cedar are perhaps a few of my least favourite individual fragrance notes and yet in this combination and ratio, they’re glorious. The presence of white jasmine petals (something I like in every scent) leaves them fresher than usual while still maintaining the desired moodiness. It’s a deliciously creamy concoction that is as impressively potent as it is long-lasting. You truly only need a single spritz for the entirety of the day and/or night, so you’ll have the bottle for a price-justifying stretch. As for the warnings that scent goes stale, I’ve never found this one to falter, even years in."

The fragrance she wears everyday:
"I’ve worked in the beauty industry for eight years, but it’s only in the last 12 months that I’ve really nailed down the scents I am drawn to and want to wear everyday. Prior to discovering Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s Gentle Fluidity Gold ($336 from MECCA), which is one of MECCA’s best-sellers, I had a penchant for dousing myself in unique, but polarising perfumes. Discovering that all I really want is to be comforted by the combination of creamy vanilla, woody amber, and softly sensual caramel and musk in this crowd favourite has really changed the game for me."
The scent she reserves for the evening:
"Goldfield & Banks Silky Woods Elixir ($416 from Sephora) is the designated evening fragrance in my collection that is actually very rarely worn out at night, because I’m a homebody. However, when the weather cools down, I spritz this stuff like money doesn’t mean a thing, regardless of the time or occasion. It’s rich and luxurious, but it’s not overwhelming or overtly feminine. Instead, the warm, smoky woods, and gourmand-leaning combination of vanilla, oud, musk and fig, feels like being wrapped in cashmere in a toasty room with a wood fire burning. Delicious in the dead of winter."

Maddy Wilson, BEAUTYcrew’s Shopping Content Producer
The fragrance she wears everyday:
"I’ll admit: I’m a bit of a fragrance fanatic. I have a rather large collection that seems to grow every time I find a scent that tickles my fancy. That being said, I do have a few signature scents — one of which I can sadly only purchase when on holiday in South Korea, and another being Jo Malone Peony & Blush Suede ($182 from MYER). Peony & Blush Suede was one of my first big perfume purchases many years ago, and remains one of my favourites to this day. It’s a light, gentle floral that isn’t too sickly sweet or overpowering, and the base note of suede makes this fragrance smooth and soft. It’s also a fragrance that I can easily wear in both summer and winter — the ultimate win! But by far the best part about this fragrance is that I can buy it in multiple varieties such as a candle ($116 from MYER), diffuser ($169 from MYER) or body lotion ($112 from MYER), meaning I can layer the scent and have it around me at all times."
The scent she reserves for the evening:
"For an evening scent, I like something that will stand out a little more, which is why I always reach for Prada Paradoxe Intense ($235 from MYER). It’s floral, feminine and flirty, with notes of jasmine and amber mixed with a musky vanilla base. I find the fragrance just deep enough to leave a gorgeous sillage, without it being too heavy. It also has fantastic lasting power — so much so, that I can still smell it on a jacket the night after I’ve worn it! Without fail, I always receive compliments when I wear Paradoxe Intense, so I know it’s one that will stay in my collection for a long time to come (especially because it’s refillable)."

Emma Allcock, BEAUTYcrew’s Content Producer
The fragrance she wears everyday:
"When it comes to fragrance my go to scent rarely changes, so much so that if I need a top up spritz, I need to have a mini bottle on my desk at all times. I’ve learnt that I love a gender neutral fragrance, and my signature scent is just that. It’s fresh, it’s inviting and my favourite part is that I can still smell it lingering long after I first spritzed. Maison Margiela Sailing Day ($240 from MECCA) boasts aquatic notes (hence its namesake), blended with a fresh hint of coriander. While it sounds like the ultimate summer scent, the depth and slightly spicy nature can take you through all seasons."
The scent she reserves for the evening:
"After a recent wander through MECCA I came across a scent I couldn’t overlook, the new launch from D.S. & Durga Cowgirl Grass ($306 from MECCA). Obviously the name and the bottle immediately called to me, but what got me over the line was the deep floral-blended musky notes. Making it the perfect rich, but not overpowering, evening scent."

Kiera Sylvester, BEAUTYcrew’s Social Editor
The fragrance she wears everyday:
"My fragrance journey has taken me from affordable cult favourites like Zara’s Red Temptation ($55.95 from Zara) to Byredo Gypsy Water ($300 from MECCA). But my current daytime fragrance is the ever-classic Chanel Coco Mademoiselle ($210 from MYER), which I carry in a little Chanel travel dispenser perfect for tossing in my handbag."
The scent she reserves for the evening:
"Come evening, I gravitate toward richer, woodier, and more ambery floral notes. While Mademoiselle seamlessly transitions from day to night, I've recently been reaching for Maison Francis Kurkdjian Baccarat Rouge 540 ($445 from MECCA) for its bold, unforgettable sillage. Another favourite that’s earned me countless compliments? Maison Margiela Jazz Club ($240 from MECCA). It shares a similar warm intensity and is a perfect choice when I want something a little unexpected but equally captivating."
