Every year I tell myself that I should start my Christmas shopping earlier. Does it happen? No. Absolutely not.
Because truthfully, Christmas gifts (in my mind) come after I've done some self-care shopping during the Black Friday sales.
While it was originally an American shopping tradition that follows Thanksgiving (this year it's officially starting November 28 and running through to Cyber Monday on December 1), Black Friday has well and truly found a place in Australia.
For beauty lovers like me, it's become something of a yearly ritual. A moment to stock up, splurge and then become strategic about holiday gifting.
Personally, I see it as the ultimate opportunity to secure the pieces I've been covering all year. Whether it's a salon-worthy hair tool, a limited-edition fragrance set, or the skincare I've secretly been wanting to splurge on.
And while we don't have a full list of Black Friday sales to go by just yet, Afterpay have revealed that it looks as though 67 per cent of Australians will complete most of their shopping between September and November.

When is Black Friday 2025?
Black Friday falls on Friday, November 28, 2025, and if that isn’t exciting enough, Cyber Monday follows right after on Monday, December 1. That means an entire weekend of incredible beauty discounts — just in time to tick off your Christmas list (or treat yourself to something a little indulgent).
