This is what our editors really think of Go-To's new fragrance oils

"[I'm] rehearsing responses to ‘you smell so good right now’"

Beauty Crew Beauty Editor / October 08 2025

Go-To Skincare has become one of the best skin care brands around the world by providing customers with the most practical purchases possible. But pursuing a brand mission like that isn't so surprising when you consider the fact that Go-To's founder, Zoë Foster Blake, is a retired Beauty Editor.

And now (a decade after the brand first launched) Go-To is finally exploring the world of fragrance with three scents that have also been created with practicality in mind — designed to be easily worn, layered and reapplied every day.

"All three scents are housed in elegant (handbag-approved) rollerballs: This is your go-to fragrance, to go," Foster Blake shared via the Go-To Skincare blog.

"We used a kind-to-skin, alcohol-free formula for a prolonged weartime (without the nose-searing alcohol cloud)," she explained. "Each glides on effortlessly, absorbs quickly, and evolves gloriously throughout the day. I recommend applying on all your ‘bendy’ bits (wrists, neck, behind knees, elbows) for extra scent power."

Here at BEAUTYcrew we love any opportunity to try a new fragrance, so we decided to put the brand's newest releases to the test ourselves. Ahead discover our editors' honest reviews of Into The Woods, Into The Garden, and Into The Bakery...

Go-To Skincare's Into The Woods Perfume Oil

from $45 at Go-To Skincare

Dubbed the favourite child by Go-To Skincare's founder Zoë Foster Blake, Into The Woods is the most sophisticated, cool and fashion-forward scent of the bunch.

"It’s a warm, amber-y, sophisticated oud, completely gender-neutral and the perfect accessory for any outfit, any time of the day — it’s all worn-in-leather, whisky, musk and allure," Foster Blake explained via the brand's website. "It was the sample I kept in my handbag for months as we tested, the one I showed my coolest, most fashion-y, in-the-know, well-travelled friends at dinners to get their feedback. They love it."

To celebrate the launch of the woods-inspired roller ball, Go-To Skincare has partnered with Unyoked to give customers a chance to win a two-night stay at an Unyoked cabin of their choice in Australia, plus a $500 Go-To voucher. Fragrance notes:

Top: Rum, oud, and mix spices accord
Heart: Patchouli, leathery accord, cedarwood, and vanilla blossoms
Base: Amber, musk, and woody accord

Review:

“Admission: this one’s a bit ‘cooler’ than I usually wear. I’m lame, I like florals, make fun of me if you must! I see it fitting into my fragrance collection in the ‘trying to impress people’ category. It’s spicy, leathery and very oud-y — I don’t feel the most ‘me’ in it, but I feel decidedly more fancy than her.” — Delaney Loane, BEAUTYcrew's Editor

“This is the perfect warm, woody, spicy scent for everyone regardless of gender. It’s just universally sexy. I also think this would layer beautifully with other fragrances in my collection; I’m leaning towards a few spritzes of Le Labo Gaiac 10 during the day, and The 7 Virtues Cherry Ambition ($162 from Sephora) in the evening.”Briar Clark, BEAUTYcrew's Beauty Editor

Go-To Skincare's Into The Garden Perfume Oil

from $45 at Go-To Skincare

Into The Garden is inspired by Foster Blake's love of heady white florals: "You know, the sun-warmed jasmine you smell as you walk along a Sydney street in summer, the posy you place on your bedside table to smell as you sleep. It’s those bold, beautiful, feminine flowers that smell like a holiday when you’re freshly showered and wearing your favourite dress."

Sound like your kind of scent? Head to Bess Paddington in Sydney on Friday 10th October first thing (read: 9:00AM)! Go-To Skincare will be rewarding the first 50 customers with a free Into The Garden rollerball and a fresh bouquet of flowers.

Fragrance notes:

Top: Lemon, coriander, honey, and gardenia
Heart:
Tuberose, ylang-ylang, jasmine, freesia, and hyacinth
Base:
Sandalwood, vanilla, solar accord, musk, and oakmoss accord

Review:

“‘Into The Garden’ (the collection’s dreamy white floral) is definitely my personal favourite. I’m wearing it right now and I’m basically staring at my screen pretending to work whilst rehearsing responses to ‘you smell so good right now’. It reads very much as a vacation scent to me it’s carefree, creamy and just the slightest bit citrus-y without veering ‘zesty’ (I don’t rate zesty, can you tell?).” — Delaney Loane, BEAUTYcrew's Editor

“I love how sunny this floral fragrance is! It makes me feel like I’m walking through a garden at the height of spring. But the combination of a touch of jasmine, airy gardenia, and a thick cloud of warm vanilla and tuberose transforms this traditional white floral bouquet into something really special and nostalgic.” — Briar Clark, BEAUTYcrew's Beauty Editor

Go-To Skincare's Into The Bakery Perfume Oil

from $45 at Go-To Skincare

According to brand founder, Zoë Foster Blake, Into The Bakery is like a maladaptive daydream in which Tom Ford dons an apron and enters The Great British Bake Off tent to bake a Paul Hollywood handshake-worthy showstopper.

"It smells enticing, inviting, smooth, warm, and milky. A coconut-vanilla and caramel dream," she explained via the Go-To Skincare blog. "This scent warms up on your skin, the delicious, sweet aroma closes in around you… it’s basically a sweet treat you can wear."

Go-To Skincare customers with a sweet tooth can head to Tokyo Lamington in Sydney and Mebourne, Jocelyn's Provisions in Brisbane, or Shadow Baking in Sydney and Adelaide to score a free Into the Bakery rollerball when they purchase a limited edition Go-To Skincare treat on Wednesday 15th October. Word to the wise: Get in early, because this deal is reserved for the first 20 customers of the day only.

Fragrance notes:

Top: Black chocolate, savoury biscuit, freesia, and jasmine
Heart:
Hazelnut, coconut milk, and teak wood accord
Base:
Vanilla, sugar cane, coconut, and tonka bean

Review:

“If your nose has a sweet tooth (scary visual), this will be right up its alley. Gourmands are rarely this life-like, and as someone partial to a plentiful serve of cake, cookies or anything caramel-y, this one’s undeniably delicious. ‘Golden biscuit’ is a note, guys tastyyyy.” — Delaney Loane, BEAUTYcrew's Editor

“Into The Bakery is not for the faint of heart. It’s a rich and decadent gourmand that feels like you’re sticking your entire head into a bucket of caramel popcorn. But it’s also addictive; I find myself inhaling the stuff after I’ve applied it, and craving a sweet treat soon thereafter.” — Briar Clark, BEAUTYcrew's Beauty Editor
