Kylie Jenner did her own makeup at the Critics Choice Awards and this is everything she used

The partner of three years starter pack

Beauty Crew Beauty Editor / January 08 2026

Everyone was looking at Kylie Jenner with envious eyes this week after the beauty mogul's boyfriend Timothée Chalamet thanked her in an acceptance speech at the Critics Choice Awards.

“Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you,” Chalamet gushed to an understandably emotional Jenner who was supporting from the star-studded crowd.

However, our collective jealousy piqued when Jenner shared a few snaps of herself before she left the house for the evening in her vintage 1996 Gianni Versace gown, and revealed that she'd finessed her flawless face of makeup herself

Like, we couldn't tell the difference between her own handiwork and that of her full-time makeup artist and friend Ariel Tejada — it was just that good.

We don't know why we were so surprised by Jenner's talents, because we also spotted her touching up Odessa A'zion's makeup in between award categories at the Critics Choice Awards. Plus, the Kylie Cosmetics founder has been dropping makeup tutorials since she was a teenager.

Thankfully, Jenner's beauty looks are a little less involved than her King Kylie days  the beauty mogul prefers natural makeup and travel-friendly routines — and in fact, there are five core products she's been using all winter long.

Keep scrolling to peep the Kylie Cosmetics products Jenner wore to the Critics Choice Awards, as well as a few alternatives that are a bit easier to find in Australia.

Step one: Concealer

Jenner has pretty flawless skin, so we're not shocked to see that she prioritises a medium coverage concealer like Kylie Cosmetics Power Plush Longwear Concealer ($47 from Kylie Cosmetics) used on select areas of the face, rather than a foundation everywhere.

This particular formula from Kylie Cosmetics has a natural, satin finish and it brightens, blurs and smooths too.

We recommend Clinique's Beyond Perfecting Foundation and Concealer ($74 from Clinique) and the Too Faced Born This Way Ethereal Light Concealer ($55 from MECCA) for a similar effect.

They also share a lot of the same ingredients, so you can trust they'll wear in a similar way to Jenner's concealer of choice throughout the day.

Step two: Blush

Want to know the secret to achieving Jenner's signature airbrushed blush? It's the Kylie Cosmetics Hybrid Blush in 'Sienna' ($37 from Kylie Cosmetics).

The hybrid formula melts into skin like a cream, but dries down to a pigmented weightless powder for a long lasting finish that clearly holds up on the red carpet and through lengthy Hollywood awards shows.

However, we understand that not all circumstances require such a steadfast formula, which is why we like the Nude By Nature Dewy Serum Blush Drops in '03 Peach Crush' ($11.47 from Priceline) and Fenty Beauty's Cheeks Out Freestyle Cream Blush in 'Rose Latte' ($35 from Sephora) as every day alternatives.

Step three: Mascara

Just like the rest of her sisters, Jenner has been blessed with unbelievably long lashes, so she usually reaches for Kylie Cosmetics' Kylash Volume Mascara ($42 from Kylie Cosmetics) to add volume, over a strip lash these days. Although we have peeped her wearing a few individuals on the outer corner of her eyes to achieve a feline-inspired lash look.

The viral Makeup By Mario Master Mascara™ ($54 from Sephora) and affordable Milani Highly Rated Lash Extensions Mascara Black ($26.99 from Priceline) have a similar lash-thickening effect as Kylash though, if you can't get your hands on a tube of the stuff.

Step four: Lip liner

Want the signature plump Kylie Jenner pout? Kylie Cosmetics' Plumping Lip Liner in 'Kylie' ($32 from Kylie Cosmetics) is an easy one-step hack that'll help you achieve just that. The formula contains a hotflux® complex that enhances volume for fuller-looking lips.

Prefer an old school over-lined lip over a spicy liner? Try M.A.C Cosmetics' Lip Pencil in 'Whirl' ($40 from M.A.C Cosmetics) or e.l.f. Cosmetics' Cream Glide Lip Liner in 'Mauve Aside' ($6 from Adore Beauty) instead for a similar finish and shade.

Step five: Tinted lip balm

Jenner may have found her niche with long-lasting matte liquid lip kits, but these days the Kylie Cosmetics founder prefers a lip product that offers natural, sheer colour payoff and comfortable wear. Enter: Kylie Cosmetics' Tinted Butter Balm in 'Honey' ($34 from Kylie Cosmetics). The jojoba oil enriched formula promises up to 12 hours of hydration and softens lips too.

Similarly, Laneige's Glaze Craze Tinted Lip Serum in 'Sugar Glaze' ($30 from Sephora) and MCoBeauty Glow Lip Plump 4-in-1 Treatment Oil in 'Angel' ($9 from MCoBeauty) provide that moisturising pop of cinnamon toasted colour Jenner always has tapped into the centre of her lips. They're just a bit more affordable.
