Louis Vuitton's foray into makeup is something we've been eagerly anticipating for years now. With a luxury brand like LV, however, expectations were always going to be sky high. Of course, they knew that. And they still exceeded them.

With Dame Pat McGrath on board as Creative Director of Cosmetics, Louis Vuitton have launched La Beauté, a makeup collection debuting with lipsticks, balms and eyeshadows, that is already teaching a masterclass in how to release (and package) luxury beauty products.

McGrath shared some insights into crafting the collection, confirming that every single aspect has been carefully considered. "Luxury in makeup is about performance, craftsmanship, and sensoriality. It’s about textures that feel exquisite, colours that captivate, and formulas that perform flawlessly", she explained. "True luxury is when every detail is considered — from the way the pigment melts into the skin to the way a lipstick feels in your hand. It’s the fusion of artistry and technology, of heritage and innovation".

Wondering when and where you can buy the beauty collection? Digital pre-orders will begin on Monday August 25 before La Beauté Louis Vuitton launches worldwide on Friday August 29, with the range available to shop on louisvuitton.com and in selected Louis Vuitton stores. In Australia, you'll be able to browse the offering by visiting LV Sydney Maison, LV Bondi or LV Queen Street Brisbane.

The La Beauté Louis Vuitton Baume collection is luminous, sheer, and let's face it, visually stunning. 10 sheer glow shades make up the colour range, offering lightweight, buildable colour and a hydrating formula that feels soft and supple on the lips.

2: La Beauté Louis Vuitton Ombres Complete Eyeshadows

Has a more beautiful eyeshadow palette ever existed? We think not. The LV Ombres collection is made up of eight shade edits, all containing four colours. The finishes range from ultra-matte to gleaming glitter, with the pigment-rich shadows melting seamlessly into skin.

“The eyeshadows really set the tone for La Beauté Louis Vuitton - they are bold, intentional, and made to be remembered", Dame Pat McGrath explained.

With an incredibly versatile 55-shade range available (a clever nod to the Roman numerals for LV; no detail has been spared), every single colour of the LV Rouge has been selected by Pat McGrath herself. Creamy satins and velvety mattes are all available, gliding onto the lips effortlessly to provide long-lasting and intensely pigmented colour.

They're all universally flattering on the face whilst still allowing enough options to provide the perfect signature shade for anyone searching. “Lipstick is presence. It’s a signature in a single stroke. It’s how women carry themselves in the world", explained Dame Pat McGrath.
