Meet the latest glowy TikTok trend: Poolside Skin

Glossy skin incoming
TikTok has been the birthplace of all the biggest beauty trends. We've emulated countless blush trends (we're looking at you boyfriend and sunset blush), started sipping on 'sleepy girl mocktails' and even committed to the morning shed all in the name of beauty. And that's without mentioning all the countless aesthetics we've tried along the way.
One of the biggest beauty trends we've firmly prescribed to over the last few years has been the rise of 'glass skin'. The gloriously glossy skin trend has transformed the way we apply our skin care, leaving us with hydrated, healthy and most importantly glowing skin. But as stunning as visages have become, our bodies have been calling out for a little something something.
The latest TikTok trend that has us wishing for warmer weather, enter: 'Poolside Skin'.

The 'Poolside Skin' trend is all about getting your skin to have that ultra glossy, 'fresh out of the pool' sheen. And no, it isn't solely reserved for when you're about to take a dip. The shiny, shimmery trend elevates any outfit with the undeniable light-reflecting sheen that's been slathered across your body.
Celebrities like Elle Fanning and Simone Ashley have taken to the Met Gala sporting the glossy glow, and we think it's high time we use that as an excuse to coat our limbs in a shimmering sheen. Some people are opting to add shimmer, but we think simple is best and with the rise of body oils (ICYMI - new hot beauty trend) it's seriously simple to nail the aesthetic.

How to get 'Poolside Skin'

We're pretty confident that if you're on the same side of #beautytok as we are, your FYP is full of different delish body oils. With many of the US-first releases being highly anticipated for their Australian launches, we can now confirm the Vaseline Body Oils have hit Aussie shores.
The rise of the body oil love has undoubtedly been the catalyst for the 'poolside skin' trend. To get the look, you're going to want to focus on creating gleaming, gloriously shimmering skin. How? By slathering your skin in nourishing, glossy body oils. The 100 per cent cocoa butter formulas of Vaseline Body Oil Coconut Restore ($14 from Woolworths) and the Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Radiant Body Oil ($14 from Woolworths) both offer seriously deep hydration and skin moisture barrier-support, giving you supple, smooth skin. The lipid-rich oils absorb deeply, boosting your body's natural production, giving you that gloriously glossy, lit-from-within glow. Plus, with coconut and cocoa as their scents you just know that you're going to smell incredible.
And that's how easy it is to nail the trend. Keep your skin hydrated and add a shining layer of oil as your final touch to any outfit and you're good to go. All we need is warmer weather and we're set to stun poolside.
