How to get Sarah Pidgeon's viral blonde waves

Her hairstylist has leaked the full grooming routine

We've spent most of the year coveting Sarah Pidgeon's Carolyn Bessette Kennedy inspired blonde hair, so it's no surprise that we've been scouring the web for a full breakdown of the Love Story star's Met Gala waves.

Thankfully, her hair stylist Christian Wood dropped the full grooming routine, however he exclusively used products from Kenra, which are unfortunately unavailable down under.

But never fear, we've found alternatives that you can shop in Australia, so you can copy Pidgeon's viral look while you're styling your hair at home.

"I started by adding root lifting spray onto damp roots, blow-dry spray on mid-lengths and ends, with a final coat of gloss spray from root to tip for extra shine and softness," Wood shared via Instagram. We recommend L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.ART Volume Lift ($29.25 from Adore Beauty), ColorWOW Speed Dry Blow Dry Spray ($38 from Adore Beauty), and IGK DISCO DISCO Clear Gloss Shine Spray ($53 from Oz Hair & Beauty).

"I then sectioned the hair starting at the nape and blow-dried it section by section with a round brush to create a smooth, silky base for the waves," said Wood. "Once the hair was completely dry, I parted it down the middle using a tail comb. Next, starting at the nape, I sectioned the hair and added an S-shaped wave using hair straighteners. Once I got to the front, I used a soft curl iron, bending the hair away from the face."

"Once the waves had cooled for five minutes, I sprayed a little dry texture spray (at the roots to add volume, and a generous spray of shine spray through the mid-lengths and ends)," he continued. "The shine spray really helps cheat hair health while adding subtle separation and definition to the waves."

Moroccanoil Dry Texture Spray ($43.60 from Adore Beauty) and ColorWOW Extra Mist-ical Shine Spray ($48.80 from Adore Beauty) are our picks for the job.

"For the final touches, I brushed out the waves with a wide-tooth comb and sprayed a toothbrush with hairspray to remove any flyaways," he shared — you can't go wrong with Redken Quick Dry 18 Instant Finishing Hairspray ($26.99 from Chemist Warehouse).

"Finally, I warmed a few drops of a shine-enhancing hair oil in my hands and gently rubbed it over the ends of the hair to add shine and give a subtle, broken-up texture," Wood explained. If you need a recommendation, you can't go wrong with KEVIN.MURPHY Young Again Immortelle Infused Treatment Oil ($69.95 from Adore Beauty).

The Met Gala provided a close up view of A-list star's hair and makeup, but did Margot Robbie completely hate her viral haircut?
