Timeless & natural: Anthony Nader predicts spring's top hair trends
With spring firmly in our sights, we decided to pick the brain of Anthony Nader, founder of RAW by Anthony Nader — which made BEAUTYcrew's best hair salons in Australia list — for his spring hair trend predictions.
"Winter is a sucker," says Nader. "Sucker, meaning that the last four months your poor strands have had the life sucked out of them, and feel not only dehydrated, but totally lacklustre."
"Fast forward to spring, and it’s now time to give your mane some major CPR," he tells us.
The RAW founder offers luxurious Oribe signature treatments, and scalp and neck massages to tend to the overall health of hair in his Surry Hills salon. But what about the cuts, colours and styles the hair expert forecasts will define the months ahead?
Keep reading to discover the top spring hair trends of 2025, according to Anthony Nader.
The top hair cut trends this spring
1/ The boho bombshell
"Think: Dakota Johnson. It’s the iconic '70s shag, but it's undone, and not so shag — if you know what I mean," Nader explains. "Dakota's haircut is all about the subtle choppy, nibbled-out pieces around the face that aren’t too even, and more lived-in."
The hair expert says the most important aspect of the relaxed, cool cut is a solid fringe that never feels flimsy, but can be easily swept to the side.
"[Aim] for root lift, and a shiny texture, which showcases health — rather than the original boho haircut where the finish was a dry texture that looked somewhat unhealthy, or like you hadn’t had time to wash your hair for over a week," says Nader.

2/ The flipped out bob
"I always love this length, because you can play with the hair more," says Nader. "Compared to say Leslie Bibb's extra short bob, which had no room for styling options."
The RAW salon founder recommends either a dramatic deep side part or a contemporary centre part with the ends slicked down and then flicked out.
3/ The Boy-ish
"I’m so in love with Taylor Hill’s boyish crop, because [you can create] so many different looks depending on what styling product you want to use," says Nader.
"[The] '90s-inspired coif is cut to energise her natural movement with hair strands [that] fall haphazardly and loosely," he explains. "This haircut is fresh and lo-fi in styling, so don't be too precious [or] strict with it — [hair] has freedom to move this season."
The top hair colour trends this spring
1/ Chestnut Bronde
"This yummy colour palette is tasty on all accounts, but why? Because nearly every woman is a natural brunette of some shade," Nader explains.
Lightening naturally brunette hair requires a beautiful transition he advises, where shades of caramel and chestnut are introduced and melted-in to a darker base.
By keeping the roots dark, and using highlights to frame the face, it minimises the potential for harsh regrowth three to four weeks after colouring the hair too.
2/ Toasted sand
Already a natural blonde? Toasted sand gives blonde hair a little pick me up with beige, butterscotch, vanilla, and honey highlights, and adds depth — without the harsh contrast.
"This hair colour is meant to appear super smooth and natural, like you’ve just spent the last three months on a Greek Island — even though you may have been stuck in Australia for the cooler months," Nader explains.

3/ Sunrise Copper
Done with blonde and brunette altogether? For those that crave a bit of spice, this sunrise copper shade has your name on it.
"This hair colour screams confidence," says Nader, who recommends glossing copper over the roots, lengths and ends to keep your hair looking bold and shiny.
Just be mindful of your skin's natural undertones, he explains. "Are you going to be a cool copper, or warm copper, and how is this going to sit with your complexion?"
The top hair style trends this spring
1/ The rural chic chignon
Nader describes this style as hair that's pinned up so effortlessly, with stray tendrils loosely framing the hairline, that it looks like you’ve been picking flowers and riding horses all afternoon.
"It oozes femininity, and it's just incredibly chic and French," he explains.
2/ The low slung pony
Raking the hair back to the nape of the neck shows an understated power and confidence that doesn't require much effort, says Nader.
It lets a beautiful complexion, and natural hair movement become the focus of a look.
3/ The '90s power blow out
Hairdressers have your tools ready, because this power blow dry is mega shiny, voluminous, and a weekly investment for clients who prefer hairstyles with longevity.
