What our beauty editor is adding to cart at Adore Beauty's first Sydney store
Adore Beauty has been on a roll this year; Australia's leading online beauty retailer built it's first-ever IRL store in Melbourne, plus three more brick and mortar locales in Melbourne and Perth.
But now the A-beauty giant is turning it's attention to Sydney, with plans to open the doors of an all new Broadway location at 10:00am on the 21st August. However, customers will have the opportunity to gain early access to beauty products and treatments the day prior, because Adore Beauty is celebrating it's Sydney expansion with a massive scavenger hunt.
"There will be over $50,000 worth of beauty products hidden at iconic sites around Sydney, as well as an extra special prize: three Golden Tickets worth $500 each for three lucky winners to spend at Adore Beauty’s Broadway store on opening day," the beauty retailer shared in a press release. "The Golden Ticket prize also includes a ‘jump the queue’ advantage on opening day, as well as an invitation to experience the store’s very own private treatment room."
"We could not be more excited about opening our first store in Sydney — one of the most vibrant, knowledgeable and diverse beauty markets in the world — right in the heart of the city’s dynamic Broadway precinct," says Sacha Laing, Adore Beauty’s CEO. "Customers can expect all the hits: our famous range of skincare, professional hair care, the world’s leading fragrances, and a private treatment room, and of course, Tim Tams will come with every single purchase, too!"
The treatment room promises free skin consultations with a dermal therapist, LED light therapy, skin analysis and facials. Plus, a schedule of monthly residences with skin care brands stocked by the beauty retailer — starting with Dermalogica — for customers to experience during their treatments. The new location will also boast a dedicated and well-stocked K-Beauty store, and in-store digital kiosks.
As a Beauty Editor myself, naturally I'm more than just a little excited about this news. In fact I've already written a lengthy shopping list detailing the products I'll be adding to cart.

What a Beauty Editor would shop at Adore Beauty
Ride-or-die, new favourite, and wish-listed skin care items
As a Beauty Editor who's constantly testing out new products I always have items in my skin care routine (and my Adore Beauty cart) that fit into one of three categories: my ride-or-die's, new favourites that I'm loving, and products that are currently on my wish list.
For me, Bioderma's Sensibio Micellar Cleansing Oil Makeup Remover for Sensitive Skin (usually $33.99, now on sale for $27.19 at Adore Beauty) is a must-have item, and I'll definitely be restocking my stores at the new Adore Beauty locale. I'm super picky about cleansing oils and balms, but this gentle formula never disappoints. It makes light work of removing any makeup I might be wearing, and it washes off easily, so I'm never left with a greasy film of oil cleanser on my face.
I'm currently working my way through a bottle of Laneige's Bouncy & Firm Serum (usually $65, now on sale for $52 at Adore Beauty), and I'm enjoying every second of the experience. The peptide serum has a beautiful, silky texture that feels simultaneously hydrating and plumping on the skin. Consider it on the shopping list.
I've spotted Shanina Shaik using Mixsoon's Bean Essence (usually $63.90, now on sale for $51.12 at Adore Beauty) on Instagram, but facialist to the stars April Brodie also recommended the hydrating and nourishing pick to me when I asked her how to achieve glass skin. So I'm planning to finally pick up a bottle in-store.

Celebrity-approved makeup I want to try
Although I'm a bit strict with my skin care routine, I'm very adventurous when it comes to makeup.
So come Thursday 21st August, I plan to get my hands on the Prada Balm Lip Blushing Care in 'U001 Astral Pink' ($80 from Adore Beauty) that Sabrina Carpenter wore to the Grammy Awards earlier this year.
As well as, a foundation I've seen Hailey Bieber using religiously in GRWM videos on TikTok — Dior's Forever Skin Perfect Foundation Stick ($103 from Adore Beauty) — and the Dua Lipa-approved Yves Saint Laurent Make Me Blush Bold Blurring Blush (usually $98, now on sale for $83.30 at Adore Beauty).

Hair products I've road-tested and trust
Finding hair care products and tools that work for me is a massive struggle. I don't have particularly difficult hair to deal with — I'm just incredibly lazy.
As a result there's a very short list of hair-related items in my beauty routine that I trust, and actually recommend to others.
Currently, Moroccanoil's High Shine Gloss Mask (usually $50, now on sale for $40 at Adore Beauty) is my favourite in-shower hair treatment, and I'll be topping up at Adore Beauty's Broadway store. It only takes a few minutes to work it's magic on clean, damp hair; revealing glossy, shiny strands once my hair dries.
Next up is a product I don't plan on replacing anytime soon, but I will be buying as a gift for loved ones: ghd's Duet Blowdry Hot Air Styler in 'Pink Sorbet' ($595 from Adore Beauty). It simplifies the at-home blow dry for coordinately-challenged individuals like myself who can't quite manage the dexterity required to get the job done with a traditional round brush and hair dryer in hand.
Finally, Kevin Murphy's Hydrate Me Wash (usually $47.95, now on sale for $40.75 at Adore Beauty) and Rinse (usually $49.95, now on sale for $42.45 at Adore Beauty) are coming home with me.
The hair salon I'm a regular at — USFIN Atelier — exclusively uses this duo on my hair. They infuse my strands with a weightless hydration that's difficult to emulate using other products (trust me, I've tried), so I'm finally buying a set for my shower.

The only body care products I use regularly
As aforementioned, I can be a bit lazy when it comes to certain aspects of my beauty routine, and unfortunately my body care ritual has fallen victim to my lack of attention. As a result, I keep things simple to mitigate my own impatience, although thankfully it will make shopping at Adore Beauty a lot easier.
I only use lightweight, fast-absorbing and fragrance-free body lotion on my limbs, and my favourites are both by Hada Labo. I like to wear the Body Essence In-Milk (usually $39.95, now on sale for $31.96 at Adore Beauty) during the day, and I save the Night Body Serum (usually $39.95, now on sale for $31.96 at Adore Beauty) for the evenings.
As a bit of a hygiene nut, no bathroom is complete without a bottle of Aesop hand wash IMO — the Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash ($53 from Adore Beauty) is my scent of choice — plus, a hydrating body wash, preferably a shower oil like L'Occitane's Almond Shower Oil ($79 from Adore Beauty).

Signature scents for home and beyond
There are only a few fragrance items that I can confidently walk in and add to cart at Adore Beauty's new Sydney store — sorry, I'm not a blind buy kind of girl.
Number one is a Maison Balzac candle. I've never met a burner from the brand that I don't like, and I expect it'll be love after first sniff with the Mediterranean-inspired Maison Balzac Cadaques Large Candle (usually $79, now on sale for $63.20 at Adore Beauty).
My second choice is Aussie born brand Who Is Elijah's Chemical Addiction (usually $179, now on sale for $143.20 at Adore Beauty), which was released earlier this year. Although I'm fond of other perfumes from the fragrance house, this is the first scent I've ever truly adored. It's a clean, subtle fragrance with woody, floral and musk notes that sit relatively close to the skin — perfect for every day wear.
Finally, I'll definitely be adding a bottle of Goldfield & Banks' Silky Woods Elixir Perfume (usually $416, now on sale for $332.80 at Adore Beauty) to my shopping cart. It's one of my all time favourite fragrances for warming cold winter days, and it's the ultimate accessory on balmy summer evenings. It's rich with a base of ouds, guaiac wood, vanilla, musk, oak moss, cypriol and wood leather that earns me countless compliments as it reveals itself in the dry down.
