‘Biscoff bronde’ is the chicest way to scale back on salon visits this season
Hair colour trends are generally one of two things: chic or affordable. A beautiful head of colour, particularly anything in the lighter realm, usually requires the utmost precision, resulting in endless hours spent in a salon chair and a notable bank balance drop.
Considering we’re in an era of needing to spend as little on our hair appointments as possible, however, we’ve all had to consider making adjustments to our signature shades.
At last a solution: ‘biscoff bronde’, the aspirational yet affordable colour sweeping celebrity circles right now. An approach that allows you to still play in the lighter arena but without the need for a full (or even half) head of foils, it’s an option designed to appease both your high hair colour standards and your beauty appointment budget.
It’s even designed to grow out smoother, meaning you’re not only spending less on an appointment, but attending appointments less regularly.
The only issue is, there’s a big difference between a just passable ‘biscoff bronde’ and a truly great one. To ensure you only end up with the latter, BEAUTYcrew caught up with Kirby Lago, owner of Pelo by Lago (plus Goldwell National Artist & Kerasilk Ambassador) to find out how to master the trend…
'Biscoff bronde' hair colour trend
What is 'biscoff bronde'?
“’Biscoff bronde’ is that soft, biscuity tone that sits right in between blonde and brunette”, Lago explains. “It’s warm, creamy, and blended - not too bright, not too dark. I’d say it’s the kind of colour that makes your skin glow but still feels really natural.”
“It’s become a go-to because clients are just over high-maintenance blondes”, Lago explains. “They still want brightness, but they don’t want to be in the salon every six weeks. ‘Biscoff bronde’ gives you that lived-in, effortless vibe with a bit more richness through the mids and ends. It grows out beautifully and doesn’t feel overdone - which is exactly what so many people are asking for right now.”
Celebrities with 'biscoff bronde'
So who can we look to for examples of ‘biscoff bronde’ done right? “Sofia Richie Grainge is the ultimate reference”, Lago confirms. “Her soft, golden 'luxe blonde' is the blueprint for ‘biscoff bronde’. It’s warm, dimensional, and grows out beautifully without harsh regrowth lines.”
“Jennifer Lopez has also worn variations of this tone for years. Her caramel-honey blend is rich and glossy, and always feels fresh. Hailey Bieber's recent bronde is another great example - it’s soft, warm, and low-maintenance, which is exactly what clients are asking for. And of course, Blake Lively’s signature bronde is timeless - bright around the face, but still soft and natural through the ends.”

Who suits 'biscoff bronde'?
Wondering if ‘biscoff bronde’ is the right fit for you? “It’s ideal for anyone with a natural base between dark blonde and light brunette”, Lago notes. “It suits clients who want brightness without the upkeep of being fully blonde, or blondes who are ready to soften things up.”
In terms of the cuts that showcase the colour best, Lago shares that “it works best on hair with a bit of movement or layering, and grows out beautifully - which makes it perfect for low-maintenance girls.”
How to get 'biscoff bronde'?
In the salon chair, Lago recommends that you “ask for a soft, blended bronde with warm, creamy tones - not too ashy, not too golden."
"Bring reference pics, talk about how much contrast you’re comfortable with, and make sure your colourist tailors the tone to your skin and natural base”, Lago advises. “That’s what makes it feel expensive and effortless.”
How to care for 'biscoff bronde'
Of course as with any colour, your care routine between salon visits is key to keeping it looking its very best. “A sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo is essential, and I always recommend a weekly hydrating treatment; the Kerasilk Smoothing Mask ($52 at Adore Beauty) is a go-to. Pair that with cooler water, minimal heat, and a great heat protectant to keep your colour fresh and your hair healthy between appointments”, says Lago.
Here's what we advise stocking your colour care kit with:
For a sulphate-free, colour-safe shampoo, we recommend the Aveda Color Control Light Shampoo ($50 at Adore Beauty).
For a hydrating treatment, as Lago mentioned, it's hard to beat the Kerasilk Smoothing Mask ($52 at Adore Beauty).
For a great heat protectant, pick up a bottle of the Oribe Gold Lust Dry Heat Protection Spray ($72 at Adore Beauty)
